Winter, my partner and I own Bailers Outfitters. We have both men's and women's wear. And thank you SO much for your well wishes for my father and family. It's been a very trying week, getting the news. :/

100% of all proceeds? Carla, pardon my ignorance, but which label is yours? If you don't have menswear I'll be sure to send ladyfriends your way.

And the best of all wishes for your Father, yourself, and the rest of your family.

Thank you Synergy and Carla for the information! That makes a lot more sense and knowing that at least a percentage of every sale is going to RFL might just convince me to brave it one more time. lol. I dunno ..we'll see.

This year is my first to participate as a vendor in the RFL Clothing Fair. I do understand there was some confusion about some stores not having vendors, so to clarify, those stoares that did *not* have vendors are stores that are donating a percentage of their total sales. but because of the confusion, everyone was asked to place at least one vendor and so they have, as far as I know. I already had one vendor, despite the fact that I am donating 100% of the proceeds of all sales in my RFL store to the ACS. So this didn't affect me either way. The lag has been an issue, to be sure. But it always will be when you pack hundreds of people onto event sims (or any sim for that matter). The folks who run the RFL clothing Fair have done their best to minimize anything that would cause lag on the sims, but no matter how hard you try to convince folks not to come 'primmed' and 'scripted' out, they will anyway. And for that, RFL can hold no blame. As for how the designers were chosen for each sim, we were given the theme and asked to make a top and secondary choice. And were placed accordingly, with top choice being honored in as many cases as possible. We chose Autumn and Spring and ended up on Autumn and are perfectly happy with that as Autumn was our top choice anyway. And while I cannot speak for other designers, I can tell you that my store there certainly has new releases and even exclusives made just for the ACS and RFL. And I've seen other with limited editions and new releases as well. I'm sorry you were so disappointed with the fair, but I can tell you that a lot of work went into making it a great event and if we manage to raise enough money to assist in finding a cure for cancer, then all the lag was well worth it. And believe me, I have a vested interest inthe succes of this event, even moreso now than when I initially got involved, as my father was diagnosed with cancer just last week.

This was taken from www.sl-newspaper.com. The vendors were returned when the sims were restarted!

** Linden: In trying to debug lag problems in Rezzable Designs, your "Chain Hangy thingy" show up with many collisions - so it was returned. Please check to make sure object don't continuously collide. Sorry for any inconvenience
Pips Fetid: He sent me an IM after he returned everything saying that he had returned things because he was debugging - when I asked why I wasn't given a chance to help figure out the issue, or at least make them phantom, I was told :
** Linden: Sorry for the inconvenience. It is often difficult to debug these things.
OK non techies here comes the explaination:
Pips Fetid: Well, any object you make has collision boundaries - where anything that runs into it will collide with it and set off a physical reaction, if the item isn't phantom - basically keeps things from falling through, Toruses & tubes have weird boundaries
The fact of the matter, though, is that the physics time (amount of time it takes the server to process those collisions) was reasonably low for the sim - it was the agent time (the amount of time it takes for avatars to process what's around them, load prims, etc etc) that was the issue
Pips Fetid: We expect lag at events like these because there are a lot of avatars, and a lot of attachments to rez on top of the builds themselves So of course lag is going to be high
And if the things he was returning were the issue, then I would have gladly made them physical if he had talked to me.
Pips Fetid: Er, made them phantom, so they wouldn't cause collisions
And, the funny thing is, the winter sim has them, too, and it's not nearly as lagged, even when it's full
Making sense now?
Needless to say Pips was rather upset at her build being blamed and set about making herself the biggest collision on the sims, LOL
One lesson that can be learned though:
If you are going to the fair PLEASE remove scripted items, heavy prims and yes that 200 prim hair that no-one will ever rez anyway. Its much better to be able to walk around bald than not be able to walk around at all!

Dahl - apparently the longer you hold out, the more there will be offered! I'm almost miffed to see stuff still being released to the fair this many days into it. I guess that's a good advertising tactic though...that way people keep coming back rather than just one-stop-bang trip. Damn them and their little dog too! I was soooo going to put on my pretty pink dresses for you guys, but I was too lazy to change out of my punkyfresh outfit. lol. I will do it eventually, and totally make it my own, of course. ;)

Poor Winter! You took out yer teeth? Whoa! That's mighty considerate of you! I think, to teach them a lesson, you should wear that outfit you were wearing the other day, with all the spikes and metal and scurriness. :D See how they like that!

I've done my best to clean out Autumn - and I'm planning on Spring later today.

And I could not agree more about people needing to be fair as far as primmage. I saw ballgowns-a-go-go, sculpty spectaculars, and even one "considerate" lady trailing 8 facelights. Whereas I'm so damn courteous I even removed my fangs. And yes, that hurts as much as you think it would. Though not as much as trying to get them back in afterwards did....

I've not been to the RFL fair yet so I am so thankful for this review! From the sounds of it I can hold off a day or two longer and save myself some lag and misery. I have been looking forward to it for a long time I can look forward a little bit longer.
Bravo!
Oh and I want to see your purchases...you in Tuli and Icing sound divine!
